Scottish troops wore traditional Highland kilts as late as World War I, but now they are used as ceremonial uniform.

Now there’s a phrase you don’t see much in the news. Seems the Scottish army is suffering a shortage of man-skirts because their military brass hasn’t awarded a contract for the garments, so the brave men in plaid are having to share.
